FCP182A - Cessna-Style TPM control panel with true Vernier adjustment
FCP182A - Cessna-Style TPM control panel with true Vernier adjustment
Say hello to the next iteration of our small aircraft control panel!
We've taken the best of our previous flight control panel and made a few upgrades. This control panel has controls for Throttle, Prop Pitch, Mixture and Flaps to give you intimate control of your small aircraft.
Throttle is analog with a tension adjustment knob, so you can vary the amount of friction required to move it, or even lock it in place!
Propeller Pitch and Mixture Controls are now both Push-Pull for coarse adjustment, AND a true rotating Vernier for fine adjustment, just like the real thing! Simply push in on the silver button to release the vernier lock, and it automatically locks back in when you release it.
Flaps control has both analog AND digital options, so you can use the controls your flight sim supports. In your sim, assign the analog axis to flaps, and by default the lever will move to each of 4 detents to control your flaps. If you want more control over the flaps then you can disable the detents so you can move the lever wherever you want it. If you want to fly a sim that doesn't allow analog flaps, simply configure the flaps for digital actuation and movement of the flaps lever will move an encoder to actuate 2 joystick buttons.
The unit is made from parts using 3D printed PLA, ABS, and PETG, and molded polyurethane resin. The heart of the unit is the custom USB joystick controller that is automatically recognized by your operating system, and identifies as a standard HID joystick controller.
A 10 foot USB cable is provided, and it comes with a desk mount that screws into the top or bottom of your desk and slots into the top OR bottom of the unit for easy removal when not in use.
An optional desk-mount clamp (FCPCLAMP, LPCLAMP, sold separately) can be purchased if you don't want to permanently affix the mounting plate to your desk.
An optional Elevator trim unit (FCPETRIM-A, sold separately) is also available that can be easily mounted to the top or bottom of the unit, and connects with a simple plug-in cable.
158mm deep x 212mm wide x 57mm tall
DISCLAIMER
I can't believe I have to put this in here, but please be aware that the only approved method to mount your FCP172/182 is by using the included mounting bracket, or the optional mounting bezel. Damaging the shell/chassis by mounting with tape, holes/screws, and especially, squeezing the unit between the jaws of a clamp, will immediately void your warranty!

Looks great. Works as expected. No issues. Easy to install and setup. I used Spad.next to configure it. Adds to the depth of realism. It is now my goto TPM for small single engine planes like Cessna 172 etc.
Very high quality and obvious extreme care taken all the way from packaging to the final product. The throttle, prop and mixture control mimic the real things action very well. The resistance nut on the throttle works well, and reinforces what needs to be done in real life. So does the vernier action on the prop and mixture control. The flaps control switch felt lighter but worked very well once flying. Installation was easy and straight forward. The instructions provided for identification and binding were clear enough despite the small screen shots. The action of the controls provides an elevated simulator experience and brings it a step closer to the real thing.
One minor issue, was the mounting option. If you try to mount the control box as part of a panel and need to drill extra holes in the holder to match the panel or other devicez, beware as the 3D printed plastic is softer than injection molded plastic.
Recommended.
First and foremost the quality of this item is remarkable! The unit feels solid and looks better than others I have looked at that are twice the cost. The TPM is also sleek and compact it’s not a 5lb box that is going to take up precious desk space. TPM shipped next day well packaged no issues. Can’t say anything about customer support as I did not need it.
It has a built in mounting system that made mounting under my desk a breeze. I will say this the bracket is a bit loose so after I installed the TPM it wobbled just a bit . I happened to have some silicon adhesive dots I applied to top of unit which made it snug against underside of desk.
Setting it up was simple MSFS immediately recognized unit and if your a spad.next person it recognized unit as well. Unfortunately there are currently no snippets that I could find for this throttle quadrant .
The tension knob on throttle worked flawless. I am a private pilot flying. 172 and it’s pretty darn close to actual throttle. Mixture also very nice love fine tuning by turning the mixture knob which did take little extra work adjusting in axis in MSFS to get it close to a 172.
Over all very happy I can’t speak to durrability only time will tell …
